If your anything like me (female and human), you likely fell in love with your bed around 15 years of age, the age when we stopped getting told to go to bed and begun getting nagged to get out of it. So, when it comes to the morning time I like to find ways I can be ready quick-smart so I can sleep-in without looking like death warmed up.

Here are my tips:

-Pack your things the night before: don’t try and do this in a hurried fluster in the morning, this can and will end in disaster, take it from the girl who has tried to take a piano lesson with her maths books. Have your things as set and ready-to-go as possible to avoid the morning flurry.

-Plan your outfit: This does not mean imagine those cool jeans you bought online could fit tomorrow, paired with the shirt you will discover tomorrow is in the washing machine. Spend just a little time actually thinking about what you want to wear, how your going to style it and then have the items out and ready to go.

-Do your hair the night before: this may sound crazy but I hate wasting precious sleep-time on my hair in the morning so here are some ways you can get around it:

Updo: place your hair in a neat high-ponytail and place a hair donut at the end. While twisting the pony tail around, roll the donut down towards the tie, folding the hair under as you go. This is a great hair-do to sleep on as it stays out of the way and keeps neat for the morning. When you wake up, secure with a few bobby pins and fix any loose ends and your good to go.

Hair wrap: curls with minimal effort? Simply wash, semi-dry and comb mouse through your hair. Then place a headband over your eyebrows and as high on your crown as possible. Taking sections of hair, twist them and wrap them around the headband until all the hair is tied up and sleep on it. In the morning you can pull it out, brush it through and vola! Such minimal effort, makes me so happy.

-Speed shower: save the shaving, exfoliating and scrubbing for a night shower. Morning mode calls for a super-fast freshen, not a contemplating-life session.

-Have breakfast and lunch ready: often in my rush, I will prioritise my take away coffee (this is of course, vital) and neglect to eat breakfast. Having food prepped and ready means you don’t have to think twice in the morning (as thinking at all tends to be difficult), and you are far more likely to eat nutritious foods rather than what you may pick up at the train station or in drive through.

-Have one of each of your essentials always on hand: in your bag, in your car, at home; have your products as on-the-go as you are. Not only will you always be prepared for disaster but it means you can complete the getting ready process wherever you may be.

Apply some of these tips and your buying sleep time. Your welcome! I am constantly looking and testing things I find online that make this whole process of getting ready quick and easy. I’ll keep you updated on my findings because let’s be real we are all in this together. Stay lazy!
